Job summary

A consulting quantity surveying firm is seeking an Inspector of Works-QS to be based in Ranau. The role involves site measurements, managing variations, and supporting final account preparations among various responsibilities. The ideal candidate should hold a degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying with at least 3 years of site experience, although support will be provided.   • Attend site and supervisory meetings.
  • Report regularly to Head Office.
  • Travel or drive as required.

We are an established Consulting Quantity Surveying firm (previously known as "Jurukos Bina") with 40 years of professional services rendered to both the public and private sectors in Sabah, Sarawak and Selangor. Our projects are varied and diverse, ranging from buildings (residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, etc.) to roads, highways, bridges and other civil engineering works. We also carry out project feasibility studies for various development proposals, provide consultancy on contractual matters and dispute resolutions, and act as expert witness.

Job Description
  • Successful candidate will join our team as an Inspector of Works-QS (IOW-QS) to be based at WP33 Ranau.
  • Interim valuations for progress payments including attending all meetings in connection thereto.
  • Site measurement for completed works or aborted works.
  • Variations (VOs) monitoring and management.
  • Support for Extension of Time (EOT) evaluation.
  • Support for Final Account preparation.
  • Attend all site and supervisory meetings.
  • Reports to Head Office on a regular basis or as the situation requires.
  • Be prepared to travel or drive.
  • All other tasks as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Quantity Surveying with minimum 3 years site experience preferably in civil works, but not compulsory. (Necessary guidance and support will be given by Head Office.) Highly motivated individuals with a good personality and a mature mindset is a definite advantage.
  • Have own transport.
