Job summary

A leading quality inspection company in Johor is seeking a Machinery Inspector to carry out inspections, coordinate with port operations, and maintain inspection equipment. The role requires adherence to safety policies and preparation of field reports. Candidates should have over 5 years of related experience or pass the Inspector Quality Assessment if lacking minimum academic qualifications. This position involves on-site inspections with some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years related experience preferred.
• Completion of Inspector Quality Assessment for candidates without SPM.

Job description

Carry out inspections according to approved procedures and instructions from the Manager or Operations Executive.

Review job details before inspection and prepare required tools, equipment, and documents.

Coordinate with port operations, agents, and terminals on vessel arrival and berthing status.

Perform inspections, supervise inspection activities when required.

Prepare and check field reports, update the Operations Executive on daily activities, and report any issues encountered.

Maintain inspection equipment and ensure they are in good working condition.

Bring to the attention to superior of any possible discrepancies during inspection and to take preventive measures.

Adherence to SGS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Policy by uphold a good safety behavior and exercising necessary standard and process when carry out your responsibilities at all times to ensure compliance to the HSE requirements.

Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by your reporting manager and/or Senior Management

Qualifications

Candidate with more than 5 years related experience can be considered for senior roles.

Candidate without minimum academic qualification of SPM shall pass the Inspector Quality Assessment to be qualified as Inspector.
