Job summary

A leading industrial company located in Puchong, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Architect to collaborate with the Technology team in defining and implementing the infrastructure strategy. The successful candidate will design cloud and network environments in Azure, lead infrastructure improvements, and support enterprise-wide transformation projects. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and over 8 years of experience in the field. The role may require travel across regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure operations with at least 1 year in architecture.
• Deep experience across network, Azure, storage, and virtualization.

Job description

Collaborate with all functions within Technology team to define, design, implement, and support the business’ and Digital and Technology’s strategy roadmap.

Strategy and Roadmap

• Design and develop the infrastructure strategy aligned to business priorities (capacity, resilience, cost, agility)
• Produce roadmaps for network modernisations, Azure landing zones and storage lifecycle.

Architecture and Design

• Develop high-level and detailed designs for Cloud (Azure), not limited to landing zones, subscriptions/ management groups, RBAC, policy, network, PaaS/IaaS, identity and backup/DR.
• Develop high-level and detailed designs for network, not limited to WAN, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, routing, DoS, and DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
• Develop high-level and detailed designs for compute & storage, not limited to hyperconverged, Kubernetes, virtualisation, backup, replication, and snapshots.
• Architect integrations using Azure Service Bus, Logic Apps, Functions and API Management.
• Designing infrastructure that is efficient and cost effective.
• Collaborations with Sime Group and division wide IT teams and IT professionals, such as but not limited to system administrators and security specialists, to maintain a cohesive IT environment.
• Oversee the planning, installation, maintenance and acceptance of new and updated infrastructure components and infrastructure-based services that align to service expectations, security requirements and other quality standards.
• Support projects or change initiatives through the preparation of technical plans and align solutions with enterprise and solution architecture standards, including security.
• Travelling to SDI branches across regions will be required.
• Ensure the execution and continuous improvement of operational duties.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a closely related discipline is required.
• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure operations with at least 1 year dedicated architecture role.
• Deep experience across network, Azure, and storage/ virtualization.
• Proven track record of delivering enterprise-wide transformation projects.
• Certifications – TOGAF, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, ITIL (highly desirable).
• Possess good interpersonal communication skills and analytical thinking in addition to positive aptitude and attitude.
