A leading industrial technology company in Malaysia is seeking an Infrastructure & Facilities Operation Engineer to manage the operation and maintenance of plant infrastructure and equipment. The role includes overseeing core systems' stability, conducting inspections, ensuring compliance with local safety regulations, and leading a technical team. Candidates should possess a minimum of 3 years of experience, relevant local qualifications, and proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin for effective communication and documentation.
Responsible for the full-lifecycle operation and maintenance management of infrastructure facilities and equipment in the new Malaysia plant. Ensure the stable operation of core systems including power distribution system (compliant with local regulatory standards), power system, water supply and drainage system, and HVAC system. Respond promptly and efficiently to daily emergencies and equipment faults to minimize production disruption risks.
Develop and optimize daily inspection plans for on-site technical personnel. Define key inspection priorities tailored to Malaysia’s local climatic and geological conditions (e.g., flood prevention for water supply and drainage systems during rainy seasons, load monitoring of HVAC equipment under high-temperature environments). Lead the identification and rectification of potential safety hazards and equipment failure risks.
Conduct regular on-site inspections at the plant, provide guidance to the local technical team on standardized equipment operation and scheduled maintenance. Strictly verify the compliance and service quality of maintenance processes to ensure alignment with Malaysia’s industrial safety management regulations.
Take charge of energy consumption statistics and cost control of water, electricity, and gas in the plant. Coordinate with local energy supply authorities for fee settlement. Lead the regular calibration and annual inspection of special equipment (e.g., pressure vessels, lifting equipment) to ensure 100% compliance with the relevant regulations of Malaysia’s Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
Coordinate technical communication, project implementation and acceptance for plant infrastructure renovation projects. Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the renovation projects proceed in a compliant and efficient manner.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in infrastructure and equipment operation and maintenance in industrial plants. Proficient in the operating principles and maintenance procedures of power distribution, water supply and drainage, and HVAC systems. Candidates with manufacturing plant O&M experience will be given priority.
Possess strong team leadership and technical guidance capabilities. Capable of effectively leading the local technical team in daily repair and maintenance tasks. Demonstrate clear logical thinking, strong execution skills, and the ability to independently analyze and resolve complex O&M issues.
Hold valid local qualification certificates in Malaysia: such as JPJ-approved High Voltage Electrical Operation Certificate (Lesen Elektrik Jenis A), DOSH-certified Special Equipment Management Certificate (Lesen Pengurusan Peralatan Khusus), or other relevant credentials. All certificates must be within the validity period.
Familiar with Malaysia’s industrial safety regulations, environmental protection standards, and relevant compliance requirements for infrastructure operation and maintenance. Ensure all O&M activities are fully compliant with local policies.
Language Requirements (Mandatory): Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written), English (spoken and written), and Mandarin (spoken and written). Able to proficiently use all three languages for work communication, technical document drafting/reading, and internal & external coordination to ensure seamless cross-language collaboration.
Possess a rigorous and responsible work attitude, strong safety awareness, excellent emergency response capabilities, and high pressure tolerance. Be willing to work overtime as required and handle emergency fault troubleshooting tasks.
