About the job

Job purpose

The Iseries Expert will be responsible for managing, maintaining and optimizing our Iseries systems to ensure reliability, security and performance.

The successful candidate will also be involved in troubleshooting and resolving any technical issues that may arise in the Iseries environment.

In addition, the Iseries expert will play a key role in collaborating with other teams and stakeholders to understand and meet business needs related to Iseries systems.

Management and maintenance of AS400 systems and associated infrastructure:

• Optimize Iseries performance and ensure system reliability in an international context.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in the Iseries environment.
• Keep the operating system up to date on all partitions.
• Ensure compliance with group security, quality and sustainability standards.
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to meet business needs related to Iseries systems.
• Provide technical expertise and support to ensure the efficient operation of Iseries systems.

Expected skills & experience

We are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

Technical skills

• Mastery of administration and management of Iseries systems and associated peripherals (HMC, VIOS, VTL, Storage Bay).
• Experience of Power, operating systems and connected software.
• Solid understanding of Iseries security, performance optimization and backup/recovery procedures.
• Knowledge of programming languages commonly used in Iseries environments, such as RPG, CL, SQL.
• Knowledge of the integration of Iseries systems with other technologies and platforms.

Soft skills / transversal skills

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders.
• Problem solving and analytical skills as an Iseries expert and level 3 support.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
• Knowledge of silva is a plus.
• The ideal candidate is fluent in English.
• Proven track record in managing and supporting Iseries systems.
• Managing L3 level documentation of Infrastructure.
• Coordination with service provider for L1/L2 support. Review/Creation of standard operating procedures documentation for L2 to execute BAU task.
