Role Description & Responsibilities

Design, deploy, monitor, & maintain IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, backup, and cloud services) while ensuring system performance, availability, and capacity planning to meet business requirements.

Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and operational tasks. On‑call rotation or weekend work is required for critical incidents or maintenance windows.

Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and network issues across various environments. In addition, automate routine system administration tasks and optimize operational workflows.

Support infrastructure patching, upgrades, and security hardening processes while collaborating with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to integrate infrastructure into CI/CD pipelines.

Maintain and improve system documentation, diagrams, SOPs, and knowledge base articles.

Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution whilst monitoring software infrastructure using tools like Nagios, Prometheus, or OpsManager

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or related fields with strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.

Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) and solid understanding of virtualization (VMware), networking, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, etc.

Good familiarity with the use of IaC tools (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation) and with Windows Server and/or Linux administration.

Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and authentication protocols.

Experience with version control tools like Git. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) is an added advantage.
