Job description

The IT DRBC (Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity) Specialist ensures the resilience and continuity of IT services in alignment with business needs. This role will lead the APO IT Disaster Recovery (DR) project, ensuring that critical systems and processes are prepared to maintain business operations during disruptions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead APO IT DR Project: Plan, coordinate, and execute disaster recovery strategies for APO IT systems; ensure compliance with corporate DRBC policies and standards.
  • Business Continuity Planning: Partner with business stakeholders to identify critical processes and define recovery objectives (RTO/RPO); develop and maintain IT continuity plans and documentation.
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Conduct risk analysis for IT infrastructure and applications; recommend and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime.
  • Testing & Validation: Organize and lead DR drills and simulations to validate recovery procedures; document test results and drive remediation actions.
  • Incident Readiness & Response: Maintain playbooks/runbooks; coordinate war-room communications during incidents; provide post-incident reviews and continuous improvement actions.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with external vendors and internal teams for DR solutions and support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor emerging technologies and best practices for DRBC; propose enhancements to improve resilience and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 5+ years in IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, or business continuity.
  • Knowledge of DRBC frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301), ITIL, risk management.
  • Experience with backup, replication, failover, high-availability, and cloud DR.
  • Strong project management and documentation skills.
