A dynamic legal firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Legal Associate/Lawyer to support dispute resolution and regulatory matters. The successful candidate will manage complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions and collaborate with senior legal professionals. A Solicitor of England & Wales qualification and at least 1 year of experience in litigation are required. Strong drafting and analytical skills, along with excellent English proficiency, are essential for this position.
Legal Associate / Lawyer (Disputes & Regulatory)
As part of the Legal function supporting Larus Limited and its group of companies, you will support dispute resolution, regulatory, and advisory matters, including internet policy-related work. The role involves handling complex legal issues across multiple jurisdictions and working closely with senior legal professionals and external counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
Support litigation and dispute-related matters, including drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions, and legal correspondence
Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions and advisory memoranda
Assist with regulatory, compliance, and internet policy matters
Liaise with external counsel, regulators, and internal stakeholders
Support corporate and commercial legal work, including contract review and drafting
Identify legal and regulatory risks and recommend mitigation measures
Requirements (Strictly required):
Qualified Solicitor of England & Wales, duly admitted (SQE route)
Minimum 1 year post-qualification experience, with litigation exposure (Law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognised institution)
Prior experience in a law firm or equivalent legal practice environment
Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical skills
Excellent written and spoken English
Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Experience :
Regulatory, telecommunications, internet governance, or technology-related matters
Cross-border or international legal work
