Job description
Reimagine Mathematics Education
Join Us as an IGCSE Additional Mathematics Teacher

For too long, mathematics has been confined to textbooks, rigid formulas, and standardised assessments. Many students learn to solve equations but never experience the thrill of discovery, the elegance of patterns, or the joy of applying mathematics to real life. If you’ve ever felt that traditional teaching methods are limiting—if you believe math can be more than a set of rules to memorise—this role is for you.

At our TongXin Waldorf School, we blend rigorous academic standards with a holistic approach to education. We are looking for an IGCSE Additional Mathematics Teacher who is passionate about both excellence and balance—someone who values intellectual challenge but also recognises the role of creativity, hands‑on learning, and interdisciplinary thinking in mathematical mastery.

This Will Be Different - And You'll Have Support

We don’t expect you to have taught this way before. What we do expect is a willingness to explore a different approach to mathematics education—one that values not only exam results but also deep understanding, real‑world connections, and the development of well‑rounded, confident thinkers. You will have the freedom to design lessons that go beyond the textbook and the support to make that transition. Training, mentorship, and collaboration with like‑minded educators will be part of your journey.

What You'll Do (With Flexibility & Guidance)
  • Teach Small Classes, Build Big Connections – With only 10-15 students per class, you’ll have the time and space to truly understand your students—their strengths, struggles, and aspirations.
  • Blend Structure with Creativity – While students will be prepared for their IGCSE exams, you’ll have the flexibility to introduce hands‑on learning, real‑life applications, and artistic elements to make math more meaningful.
  • Learn as You Teach – You’ll receive training and mentorship in Waldorf principles, helping you integrate elements of storytelling, nature, and practical skills into your teaching.
  • Collaborate Across Subjects – Partner with teachers in science, arts, and humanities to create interdisciplinary projects. Math doesn’t exist in isolation—it shapes architecture, music, economics, and more.
  • Be Part of a Vibrant Community – More than just a school, we are a learning ecosystem where teachers, students, and parents engage in meaningful experiences beyond the classroom—festivals, fairs, performances, and community events.
Who We're Looking For
  • A qualified Additional Mathematics teacher with experience delivering the IGCSE syllabus.
  • A lifelong learner who is curious and open to exploring Waldorf education (training and mentorship provided).
  • Strong English communication skills (verbal and written).
  • A warm, empathetic, and community‑mindful educator who builds positive student relationships.
  • Someone who sees education as more than just passing exams—it’s about preparing students to think deeply, solve creatively, and grow holistically.
Helping Students Love Math, One Lesson at a Time

This is a full‑time position, however, we are also open to consider part‑time as an option.

More importantly though, it’s a chance to reimagine the way mathematics is taught. If you’ve ever thought, "What if teaching math could be different?"—this is your opportunity to find out.

Apply today, and let’s reimagine math education together.
