Overview

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for reviewing and reporting on operational activities, performing variance analysis, and managing month-end closing processes. This role involves close collaboration with various functional teams to streamline and enhance accounting processes. The position supports both U.S. and international operations in general ledger accounting, including fixed assets management, and contributes to SOX compliance and financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records for day‑to‑day transactions related to accounts payable, payroll, fixed assets, accounts receivable, and the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers for business units; ensure proper calculation and recording of depreciation.
  • Ensure the completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of transactions related to general ledger, fixed assets, intercompany accounts, treasury operations, and bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile and analyze trial balance accounts, including cash, prepaid expenses, other assets, intercompany balances, and accruals.
  • Execute month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing and reporting activities.
  • Research, reconcile, and monitor accrual and prepaid accounts; prepare or propose necessary journal entries.
  • Collaborate closely with other finance functions such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A to support cross‑functional processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3–4 years of experience in a shared service center (SSC) or multinational company (MNC) environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft D365; familiarity with other ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP principles is preferred.
  • Detail‑oriented, accurate, and able to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, in English.
