THE TEAM
You will be joining a global Human Resource team supporting our managers and employees in the Kuala Lumpur office. THE OPPORTUNITY
You bring at least 3 to 5 years of related experience as a Human Resource Manager who can lead and execute the full spectrum of HR functions for the Kuala Lumpur office. This role requires a strong HR generalist with hands‑on operational skills and strategic advisory capability. The HR Manager partners with the local management team and global HR to drive organisational effectiveness, ensure compliance with Malaysian labor law, and create an engaging and positive workplace culture.

THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE IN THIS ROLE
- Resourcing, Recruitment & Selection - partner with management team to define job requirements, selection criteria, and recruitment plans; managing end-to-end recruitment and timely hiring
- New Employee Onboarding - lead employee onboarding, ensuring smooth integration into the organization
- Performance Management & Development - guide and support employees and managers through the performance review cycle coaching managers on feedback delivery, managing performance, and development planning
- Learning & Capability Building - partner with managers to identify skill gaps and implement training programs; plan and deliver in-house training and HR workshops
- Employee Relations & Workplace Culture
- Develop, maintain, and update HR policies, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with Malaysian labor laws acting as the lead for disciplinary and grievance matters
- Champion employee engagement, communications and culture-building activities
- Conduct exit interviews, analyse trends, and provide insights to reporting manager
- Safety Compliance - ensure a safe and compliant work environment, leading Health & Safety initiatives
- Compensation & Benefits - manage annual salary processes participating in market benchmarking and working with providers to ensure competitive and cost-effective employee benefits
- Budgeting & Financial Oversight - collaborate with Global HR to develop the annual HR budget monitoring HR-related expenditures
- HR Systems & Administration - maintain accurate employee records and data integrity in the HRIS as the local administrator while supporting staff with system usage and providing reports to management
- Global HR & Cross-Functional Projects - collaborate with global HR on policy roll-outs, projects, and compliance initiatives
- Local Management Support - participate in local management meetings as HR lead providing HR insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions
- Supervisory Responsibilities - manage local HR Team/HR Coordinator
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant HR Manager experience, including hands‑on exposure to recruitment, employee relations, and compensation
- Experience of working in a multi-national organisation with current/global HR systems and policies is desirable
- Manage and lead others
- Comfortable working with a remote manager, while demonstrating the ability to work alone with the confidence to make appropriate decisions
- Understand budgeting and basic financial management
- Sound knowledge of Employment Act 1955, Malaysian labor regulations, and HR compliance
- Proven track record of handling disciplinary cases and grievances independently
- HRIS experience and basic data analytics/reporting capabilities
ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
- Must be able to speak and write clearly in English
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate, influence and build trust across levels
- Ability to make presentations, draft reports and to generate correspondence for leadership team
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Working knowledge of any HR information system
- High level of professionalism and personal integrity
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with the Management Team and communicate effectively with all staff
- Good appreciation and understanding of various cultures, customs and business practices in both the local country and other countries in the region
- A good record of meeting goals and timelines
