SALARY RANGE: RM4,000-RM6,000
Responsibilities
This is a Non-Academic position at the Sarawak Campus. The duties and responsibilities of this position cover the following functions within the Human Resources (HR) unit’s Services section:
- Human capital planning and budgeting;
- Compensation management including remuneration strategies and operations of remuneration packages for new appointments; and
- Provision of data to support the University’s accreditation and quality requirements such as programmed accreditations and other governmental requirements.
The position will assist in planning, supervising where required, and implementation of work activities; and in carrying out new initiatives undertaken by the unit as well as any other relevant tasks as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Criteria
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Management or other related discipline from a recognized institution with at least three (3) years of relevant work experience. Master’s degree holder in a relevant discipline can be considered.
- Relevant work experience in various functions of human resources – particularly human capital planning, compensation, remuneration packages, employee statistics and related HR operations.
- Proficiency in the application of information technology, i.e. MS Office and Adobe Acrobat to administer processes and tasks including demonstrated competence with word documents, spreadsheet packages and presentation for analyzing data and preparing management reports.
- Familiar with the current regulations and requirements as well as various government and statutory bodies (e.g. Sarawak Labor Ordinance, Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp), SOCSO, Inland Revenue Board, Employee Provident Fund etc.).
- Ability to communicate well in spoken and written English to ensure information is conveyed effectively and to develop cooperative working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Demonstrated adaptability, and proven ability in planning with resourcefulness and initiatives to conduct follow-through of multiple-projects.
- Demonstrate maturity and of pleasant personality, with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated integrity in handling sensitive information and ability in maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Some experience in a supervisory role of a team.
- Familiar with the leading practices or current trends in human resource relating to human capital, compensation, remuneration and best practices in other related areas within the HR Services function.
- Ability to do presentation and facilitate or conduct staff briefing sessions and communication activities.
- Familiar with use of technology features including Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and/or technology-enabled system to enhance HR operations and functions such as human resource information system, human capital planning and budgeting, compensation and other related system modules.
- Passionate and highly driven to excel particularly in ensuring smooth operations as well as in process improvements, planning and implementation of new initiatives.
