Job summary

A leading financial institution is seeking an experienced professional to oversee SDS Operations in Malaysia. Responsibilities include leading a team managing Securities Reference Data and ensuring data quality and compliance. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in Security Reference Data within financial institutions and be proficient with Bloomberg Data. Overview

Global SDS Ops is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Securities Reference Data in the repositories that feed to downstream data consumers accurately and timely within SLAs. Monitoring, assessing and addressing data quality issues on all securities data related matters. The role is to oversee SDS Operations in Malaysia working hours to bridge both APAC and Europe activities with 12pm start.

Ensuring consistent standardized best practices are followed across all regions. Driving continuous improvement in our data management processes. Ensuring our operations are both agile and robust, thereby underpinning our strategic initiatives.

Working Hours: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Responsibilities
  • Charged with overseeing and leading the SDS Ops Team in Malaysia who are responsible for the creation and maintenance of Securities data across multiple platforms.
  • Ensuring security set ups and data updates are actioned accurately and timely.
  • Responsibility for addressing day‑to‑day data quality issues that arise, requests are often time‑sensitive and bespoke in nature.
  • SDS Ops Team actions on exception and recon reports per controls cadence.
  • Build and grow SDS Team members to be SMEs and support the global function.
  • Product champion and SME for all security reference data‑related matters, providing indispensable knowledge and support.
Qualifications
  • Solid industry and market experience.
  • 3+ years of experience with Security Reference data across different product types (fixed income, equity, derivatives, currency & commodities) within an established financial institution, investment bank or fund‑managed organization.
  • Proficient in Bloomberg Data and Terminal.

  • Working knowledge of data querying tools.
