Job description

The HR Manager will lead and manage all human resource functions across our group of companies, which span ferry operations, jetty management, logistics, holdings, and telecommunications. This role is responsible for aligning HR strategy with business goals, ensuring compliance with labor and industry-specific regulations, and driving employee engagement in a multi-sector workforce.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead HR strategy across subsidiaries and business units.
  • Oversee full spectrum of HR operations including recruitment, compensation & benefits, payroll, training, and industrial relations.
  • Develop HR policies tailored to seafaring crews, jetty staff, logistics teams, and corporate/telco employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian labor laws, maritime safety standards, and telco workforce regulations.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage union or employee relations within operational areas where required.
  • Drive workforce planning and succession planning to support business expansion.
  • Partner with management in creating a performance-driven culture.
Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in HR management.
  • Familiarity with workforce challenges in logistics, transport, or telco industries preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment laws and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and either Mandarin or Tamil.
