We invite you to leverage your strong people, organizational, and problem‑solving skills as you provide HR Business Partner (HRBP) support to our offices within the APAC region, particularly in Southeast Asia. You will deliver a wide range of strategic and tactical HR business partnering activities, including, but not limited to talent management and development, total rewards, well‑being, diversity, equality and inclusion, organisational development and culture.

As an HRBP in the APAC region, you will be part of our diverse, collaborative, and energetic HR and business support team. This team consists of passionate, friendly and collaborative individuals. You will operate in an open and matrix environment where your opinions are valued, and you can contribute to the development of HR and the company. Participation in exciting business and local and Global HR projects is part of this role, providing opportunities for you to flourish and develop.

The role reports to the Head of HR, APAC, and works closely with the HR Directors of our other Global Business Areas. In collaboration with the wider HR team, the HRBP will primarily support all markets across our offices in the APAC region. As Ramboll expands within the APAC region, additional HR support may be required in new geographies. The position is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The successful business partner will establish trusted relationships and deliver value‑added services to management and employees, aligning with the strategic business objectives of the APAC region and its individual markets. The ideal candidate will possess a solid level of business acumen and be an experienced HR business partner in the region.

Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
  • Support internal operational teams in achieving business goals and HR objectives:
    • Recommend, develop, and implement people & culture initiatives, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement and position the organization as the preferred employer.
    • Develop collaborative relationships with leaders, people managers, and employees, involving activities such as coaching, influencing, facilitating, presenting, communicating, analysing, problem‑solving, etc.
    • Monitor employee engagement and work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity, and enhance retention.
    • Analyse reports from HRIS and other data resources/dashboard to provide business‑critical advice to business unit leadership.
  • Stay informed about general employment‑related laws, data privacy regulations, HR trends and developments, and specific local regulations for the APAC region, particularly Southeast Asia.
  • Drive strategic elements of HR annual processes and initiatives (including annual performance management, salary reviews, employee engagement surveys, talent reviews, workforce planning, organisational change, etc.).
  • Assist the Head of HR in identifying, driving the implementation and delivery of strategic HR priorities for the APAC region.
  • Participate in M&A activities, including due diligence and integration tasks, as assigned.
  • Work closely with our People Advisory and HR Operations teams to deliver and execute day‑to‑day HR activities. Maintain strong collaboration with global Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and implement industry best practices.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR or related qualification.
  • Minimum of 5‑8 years of experience as a generalist or HR Business Partner (HRBP).
  • Familiarity and/or experience with various HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., Workday); must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal); fluency in an additional Asian language is a plus for engaging with native speakers and reviewing documents in the local language.
  • Strong HRBP skillset, including consulting, conflict resolution, negotiation, and coaching/mentoring skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively present to all levels and cross‑functionally within the organization.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working within a highly dynamic, evolving organisation, navigating a matrix structure, and managing various key stakeholders, including complex decision‑making processes.
