Job Descriptions
- To assume the role of secretary for the HSE Committee as per statutory requirement and may chair HSE meetings in the absence of the chair and as representative.
- To ensure the updated requirements of DOSH are implemented and properly documented.
- To initiate, propagate, promote, educate, execute and implement HSE programs and activities with continuous checks of the work-site.
- Be proactive to lead in Safety Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Environmental aspect impact assessment.
- To actively monitor, audit or carry-out risk assessment of the HSE operations at the work-site at all times, especially for hazardous, harmful and dangerous work.
- To review any reports by customers and/or HOD regarding HSE matters.
- To participate in HSE discussions with customers or any local authorities and report to site management as required.
- To make recommendations and provide feedback for improving safety, health and welfare conditions at the work-site.
- To provide, recommend or arrange proper education and training on HSE matters for staff, including proper usage of PPE.
- In conjunction with site admin, to process PPE purchase requests and maintain PPE inventory records.
- Conduct daily safety briefings before site employees start work and document them.
- To strive for zero accidents or incidents by adhering to customer safety rules and full compliance with safety and health practices for all employees.
- Enforce vehicle policy on site safety, including vehicle spot checks.
- Ensure proper waste management (routine and hazardous).
- Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance of the company compound and job front.
- Review current and yearly job hazard analyses and take responsibility for assigned jobs.
- Coordinate with HR regarding safety violations and disciplinary actions related to safety infringements.
- Work with site supervisors to enforce safety compliance in the compound or at the job front.
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent.
- Green Book holder registered with the Malaysia Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) as Safety & Health Officer (SHO).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Health, Safety and Environment.
- Good analytical skills and strategic planning.
- A good team leader who can motivate the team and ensure high performance and targets are met.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Self-motivated with continuous learning and self-development.
- Strong and decisive in emergency situations.
