A prestigious educational institution in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Head of Department (HOD) to lead the UWE department. To lead and manage the department of UWE by delivering high-quality teaching, ensuring academic excellence, overseeing curriculum development, and providing strategic direction in line with HELP Academy’s goals and values. The HOD UWE will foster a supportive learning environment, drive academic innovation, and maintain strong alignment with industry and regulatory standards.
Ensure relevant academic support for effective learning experience for students.
Create a supportive learning environment by addressing student needs, offering academic guidance, monitoring progress, and promoting development.
Manage department administration, lead meetings, oversee staff workload and performance reviews, maintain compliance and ensure high-quality teaching, relevant curriculum, and alignment with industry standards.
Oversee academic programmes, ensuring all programmes are in compliance with quality and regulatory standards, regularly reviewed for improvement, and introduces new courses as needed.
Support faculty research, collaboration, and external funding opportunities as and when needed.
Maintain strong partnership with foreign university partners to ensure smooth running of the programme.
Coordinates with Registry on examination, and ensure the integrity and effectiveness of assessment processes.
Review student applications, monitor conduct and academic performance, and work closely with the Registrar on disciplinary, withdrawal, and progression matters.
Undertakes additional responsibilities and projects as assigned, while fostering a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement within the department.
