We work with government agencies, NGOs, universities, and local communities to protect wildlife and habitats across Pahang.
The Head of Communications, Education & Public Awareness (CEPA) owns ASARTR’s CEPA strategy and delivery. You’ll lead bilingual (EN/BM) communications, education/public outreach, and risk-aware messaging; implement the CEPA Detailed Action Plan (DAP); manage budget, teams, and vendors; and ship audit-ready outputs that build understanding, trust, and pro-conservation behaviours.
A. CEPA Strategy & Governance
Translate the CEPA DAP into annual/quarterly plans with KPIs, milestones, budgets, and risks.
Set and enforce CEPA SOPs: sign-off matrix, style/brand guide, safeguarding & data/privacy, risk escalation.
Align CEPA with ASARTR Masterplan and EMS priorities; run rolling reviews and improvements.
B. Communications (EN/BM)
Lead digital/website, media materials, advisories, signage, publications, events—fact-checked and risk-aware.
Maintain press kit, key messages, Q&A/holding statements; act as senior approver for sensitive outputs.
Monitor policy/sentiment; brief leadership with concise intel notes.
C. Education & Public Awareness
Design and deliver school/visitor/community programmes tied to coexistence outcomes.
Produce curricula, facilitator packs, and mobile/outreach modules; track participation and learning outcomes.
Co-create materials with communities and partners; ensure accessibility and cultural fit.
D. Team, Partners & Reporting
Lead Communications & Education teams; manage vendors/consultants to ToR, timeline, and QA.
Coordinate with agencies/NGOs/universities; organise visits, talks, and joint statements when needed.
Publish monthly updates and quarterly dashboards (reach, quality, sentiment, behaviour proxies; spend vs plan).
8–10 years’ experience in communications and/or education/public engagement, including team and budget leadership.
Proven experience managing comms & education teams/programmes, budgets, consultants, and multi-stakeholder delivery.
Excellent writing/editing in English & Bahasa Malaysia; strong editorial judgement in sensitive contexts.
Proven delivery to audit standard (docs, approvals, records); disciplined planning and follow-through.
Confident engaging government/NGO/community stakeholders; willing to travel and work occasional evenings/weekends.
Prior experience dealing with Malaysian government agencies and regulatory processes.
Background in conservation/protected areas, environmental education, or behaviour-change communications; experience with crisis/issues comms, visitor-management/signage, or safeguarding/privacy implementation.
Familiarity with MEL for education/comms; comfort with basic data/UX testing to assess content effectiveness.
Familiarity with crisis communications / issues management.
