A leading financial institution in Malaysia is seeking a dedicated individual to assist the Chief Internal Auditor in executing the overall audit plan. The role involves preparing strategic audit initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations, and enhancing operational policies. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's in Finance or Accountancy, over 12 years of audit experience with a strong background in risk management, along with excellent communication skills in both English and Bahasa Melayu.
Responsible for assisting the Chief Internal Auditor (CIA) in achieving the overall audit plan as approved by the Board Audit Committee (BAC).
Responsible for preparing and implementing the overall IAD strategic audit plan approved by Management and Board.
Responsible for ensuring the timely submission of the relevant reports and producing high-quality audit reports.
Responsible to plan, and reviewing strategic audit initiatives approved by the Management and Board.
To conduct and/or attend meetings as required for both internal and external purposes.
Responsible for undertaking other ad hoc assignments, such as Investigation, Strategic Business Plan etc., as requested by the CIA.
To perform and supervise timely and effective audits on audit entities covering Branches, regional and credit audit related area as approved by BAC in accordance with approved internal and external guidelines, manuals/standard.
To perform, guide and monitor investigation or special review as requested by the approving authority.
To prepare and review the accuracy and quality of audit reports/investigations/special reviews and ensure timely submission of the reports.
To work closely with respective parties, i.e. auditee and other entities that support and control activities.
To identify the root cause and come up with recommendations for the resolution of the issues/findings.
To promote a compliance and risk‑aware culture among the business units/auditees as well as the own department/division.
To review compliance with Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG).
To promote and come out with recommendations to improve awareness and compliance with ESG.
Overall responsible for managing the Credit Audit function.
Plan, execute and monitor strategic audit initiatives approved by Management and Board.
To ensure the department functions fully in compliance with regulatory/Bank’s internal requirements.
To ensure continuous enhancement/improvement of the Bank’s operational policies and procedures.
To review the proposed value‑add recommendations and initiatives made to improve risk management, compliance culture, improve productivity and strengthen control.
To continuously drive and improve the department’s productivity and quality via the implementation of new initiatives and the enhancement of the manuals/policy/guidelines related to the department.
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accountancy or equivalent.
Having a certified professional qualification and/or certifications, such as the Certification for Bank Auditors (CBA) and/or the Certificate in Internal Auditing for Financial Institutions (CIAFIN), would be an advantage.
Experience:12 to 15 years of working experience, preferably in an audit/financial institution environment, of which 7 years are in managerial roles.
Possessing experience and good knowledge of banking operations, credit, and risk management aspects would be an advantage.
Knowledgeable in auditing, risk management, management, and corporate governance concepts, relevant regulatory guidelines such as BNM/GPs, internal audit standards & practices.
Good analytical skills, able to evaluate and form logical conclusions and reasoning based on facts.
Good knowledge of banking operations and procedures.
Good communication and interpersonal skills with high proficiency in verbal and written English & Bahasa Melayu.
