Boustead Holdings Berhad is seeking a highly accomplished Group Chief Business Officer (GCBO) to provide Group-wide operational leadership with a strong emphasis on the Defence portfolio. Reporting directly to the Group Managing Director, this role is critical in driving strategy execution, delivery excellence, governance, and sustainable business growth across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

The GCBO is responsible for leading and overseeing Group operations, translating corporate strategies into executable plans, and ensuring effective delivery, performance management, and governance. The role provides strategic and operational leadership across Business Development, Delivery & Project Management, Strategic Defence Units, and major programmes to support the achievement of Group objectives and national priorities.

Lead and oversee Group-wide operations, with strong emphasis on delivery performance, efficiency, quality, and risk management across the Defence portfolio.

Translate Group strategies into executable operational plans, KPIs, and performance dashboards.

Drive business strategy execution, new business initiatives, and commercial growth aligned with corporate and national priorities.

Provide leadership oversight to Business Development, ensuring disciplined pipeline management, bid governance, and strategic alignment.

Oversee Delivery & Project Management governance across major programmes, ensuring milestone achievement, cost discipline, and contract compliance.

Provide strategic oversight to Strategic Defence Units and Project Directors, ensuring alignment with capability planning and programme delivery.

Ensure strong governance, risk management, compliance with LoA and internal controls, and proper handling of confidential information.

Build and develop strong operational leadership capabilities, fostering a high-performance and accountability-driven culture.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, Defence Studies, or a related field.

Master’s Degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.

Minimum 18–20 years of senior leadership experience in complex, multi-business environments (GLC, defence, or strategic industries).

Proven track record in leading large-scale operations, delivery performance, and business transformation initiatives.

Strong exposure to governance frameworks, LoA processes, audit, and performance management.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-risk programmes concurrently.

Strong stakeholder management, decisive leadership, and high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
