Job summary

A global manufacturing company is seeking a Global Engineering Director based in Penang, Malaysia. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System across sites in Asia, establish engineering standards, and develop a high-performing team. This role requires extensive experience in manufacturing engineering, particularly with SMT and FATP processes, and strong leadership capabilities. Frequent travel across Asia is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 5 years in a global leadership role.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in SMT and FATP processes for SSD or similar storage products.
• Fluent in English; proficiency in Mandarin or Thai is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new MES system across multiple sites.
• Establish and enforce global engineering standards for SMT and FATP processes.
• Lead and develop a high-performing global engineering team.
• Support new product introductions ensuring alignment with global manufacturing standards.
• Introduce advanced manufacturing concepts like Smart Factory and IoT.
