Pengangkutan Hing Heng Lee Sdn. Bhd. operates in the logistics and transport industry, specializing in lorry transportation services. Its business primarily involves hauling goods using trucks, servicing clients who require overland transport across regions. One of the company's core services includes the transportation of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and related palm-based products using dedicated palm oil tankers.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Manager – Operations & Logistics to oversee and lead all operational, logistics, fleet, workshop, and regulatory functions within our palm oil operations. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership capabilities, deep operational knowledge, and proven experience managing large fleets, workshops, and multi-site logistics operations. Candidates with 5–8 years or more experience in a managerial role overseeing operations and logistics are strongly encouraged to apply.
1. Daily Operations & Asset Management
· Oversee and evaluate driver performance, addressing operational, safety, and disciplinary issues promptly.
· Review, approve, and manage all Purchase Requests (PR) to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.
· Supervise foremen at central workshops and remote project sites, ensuring productivity, maintenance efficiency, and safety compliance.
· Plan, coordinate, and dispatch the lorry fleet to support operational needs across the Perak region.
· Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on new machines, tools, and vehicles to verify quality and compliance with company specifications.
· Manage and support JPJ audits, ensuring full regulatory compliance and smooth audit processes.
· Work closely to the Director to provide operational insights and updates.
· Lead regular workshop and logistics meetings to align goals, address challenges, and communicate priorities effectively.
· Lead recruitment efforts for foremen for all workshop at respective site, including candidate sourcing, screening, and interviewing.
· Develop task assignments, oversee onboarding, and ensure efficient training for new hires.
· Drive performance management, ensuring all staff follow company policies, SOPs & directives.
· Issue warning letters and handle disciplinary processes when required.
Provide strategic recommendations to improve operational efficiency and resolve critical issues.
Draft, implement, and communicate policies, memos, and SOPs.
Monitor new development projects, track progress, and ensure timely completion by resolving operational obstacles.
Serve as the primary liaison with factories for any lorry-related issues.
Represent the company in dealings with government bodies:
· Handle and document all official payments, including monthly police-related payments, ensuring strict compliance with legal requirements.
Source quotations and negotiate pricing for major tools, machinery, and operational purchases.
Approve and manage emergency cash disbursements during off-hours, public holidays, or night emergencies.
Undertake additional tasks, special assignments, and company matters as required by upper management.
· Degree / Diploma in Logistics Management, Operations Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or related discipline.
· Additional certifications in logistics, fleet management, or operations are a strong advantage.
· Managers with more than 5–8 years of managerial experience in operations and logistics in the palm oil industry or heavy machinery/logistics environment are encouraged to apply.
· Proven track record managing large teams, multiple operational sites, and large-scale fleet operations.
· Preferably, candidates who are able to communicate in Mandarin, as the role requires regular interaction with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
· Strong command of fleet management, workshop operations, and logistics dispatching.
· Excellent understanding of regulatory requirements (JPJ, PUSPAKOM, JTK, Police reporting procedures).
· Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
· Excellent analytical skills and ability to make decisive operational decisions.
· High proficiency in operational planning, resource allocation, and problem-solving.
