Job description
General Ledger Analyst – 6 Months Contract – Salary up to RM6000

Support the Finance Shared Services (FSS) General Ledger (GL) operations, including period-end closing, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and statutory audit support. Candidates must have hands‑on audit experience or a strong audit background.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support day-to-day GL accounting operations and period-end (monthly, quarterly, yearly) closing.
  • Prepare financial reports, analysis, and full set of accounts for management and statutory purposes.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, resolve variances, and clear long‑outstanding items.
  • Support statutory audits, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to audit queries, and ensuring timely audit closure.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for assigned entities and accounting standards (IFRS/MFRS).
  • Guide and coach junior team members and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Drive issue resolution, compliance, and continuous process improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, MIA, CPA, ICAEW preferred).
  • Minimum 4–6 years of GL accounting experience with a compulsory audit background (external or internal audit).
  • Hands‑on experience in a full set of accounts, financial statements, and audit engagements.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS/MFRS and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in Finance Shared Services and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365) is an advantage.
  • Able to work independently, manage deadlines, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
