Job description

We're a highly motivated team building an ambitious game in Unreal Engine. We’re looking for a Technical Director who doesn’t just “manage tech,” but cares deeply about the craft, loves solving hard problems, and wants real ownership over what they build.

This role is ideal for someone who wants to shape a game from the inside out, make impactful decisions, and see their ideas directly influence the final player experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Define and evolve the technical direction of our Unreal Engine project.
  • Make key architectural decisions that balance creativity, performance, and scope.
  • Choose why and how Unreal features are used—not just because they exist.
  • Write production Unreal C++ and Blueprint code alongside the team.
  • Build core systems such as gameplay frameworks, AI, world systems, tools, and multiplayer.
  • Debug complex issues and enjoy the satisfaction of solving them.
  • Create systems and tools that let designers and artists move fast.
  • Work closely with non-programmers to turn ideas into playable reality.
  • Help the team say “yes” to cool ideas by making them technically possible.
  • Set a high bar for code quality, clarity, and maintainability.
  • Mentor other engineers through collaboration—not hierarchy.
  • Encourage experimentation while keeping the project grounded.
  • Care deeply about performance, memory, and frame-time.
  • Optimize only when it matters, and know when “good enough” is good enough.
  • Keep builds stable so the team can focus on making the game fun.
  • Reduce technical debt without killing momentum.
  • Anticipate future needs while staying realistic about scope.
  • Help the studio grow technically without losing its soul.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience with Unreal Engine (C++ + Blueprints).
  • Someone who loves games, not just technology.
  • Builder mindset: “How do we make this work?”
  • Comfort wearing many hats in a team.
  • Clear communicator who enjoys collaborating across disciplines.
  • Passion for craft, ownership, and seeing a game through.
Why This Role Is Different

Your decisions directly shape the game, not just a subsystem.

No layers of management between you and the product.

Creative freedom with real responsibility.

A team that values taste, curiosity, and passion over buzzwords.

Company benefits
  • Medical Insurance
  • Team Bonding Events
  • Pantry Snacks
