Job Description

Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for the end-to-end management of the secured NPL portfolio (primarily backed by real estate, fixed time deposits).

Conduct deep portfolio analysis to segment accounts based on risk, recovery potential, and resolution pathways (Declassification, Restructure, Enforcement and Sale).

Set portfolio-level recovery targets and monitor performance against KPIs.

Oversee the valuation and revaluation of underlying collateral.

Restructuring & Workouts

Lead complex restructuring negotiations with borrowers for viable secured accounts.

Design and implement tailored restructuring plans (e.g. loan modifications, forbearance agreements etc).

Assess viability of borrower plans and restructuring proposals.

Oversee the initiation and management of legal recovery actions (Foreclosure, Civil Suit, Bankruptcy, WSS, Garnishee Order etc) where restructuring is not feasible or fails.

Ensure efficient execution of enforcement processes (possession, sales, auction) in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Manage relationships with legal counsel, valuers, auctioneers, and security enforcement agents.

Drive strategies to maximize recovery value from collateral realization.

Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of recovery officers and legal specialists.

Set clear performance objectives, conduct reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and results.

Manage team resources effectively and efficiently.

Ensure strict adherence to internal credit policies, risk appetite frameworks, group and country regulatory guidelines.

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with secured NPL portfolio and recovery actions.

Prepare and present detailed, accurate, and insightful portfolio performance reports to senior management and committees (e.g., Credit Committee, Board Sub-committees).

Maintain robust documentation and audit trails for all recovery actions.

Stakeholder Management

Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders (Credit Underwriting, Business Units, Legal, Compliance, Operations & Technology, Customer Advocacy, Finance).

Manage relationships with external stakeholders (Borrowers, Legal Firms, Vendors, Regulators where applicable).

Identify and package secured NPL portfolios for potential sale to other investors.

Lead the sales process, including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, and transaction execution.
