Sigma School is building the leading AI-powered coding education platform for Southeast Asia. Thousands of learners use our programs to switch careers into tech. We are expanding our learning portal into a highly interactive, gamified, AI-enhanced environment where students learn through hands‑on challenges, real projects, automated review systems, and integrated job‑placement tools. The Role

We are looking for a full stack engineer who can take ownership of features across our entire stack and improve the quality, speed, and reliability of our learning platform. You should enjoy researching tradeoffs, making architectural decisions, and building systems that thousands of students depend on. This role blends product engineering + platform architecture + technical problem‑solving. You will contribute directly to how future developers in Southeast Asia learn to code.

You Will

• Build and ship features using React, TypeScript, shadcn, and Next.js.
• Work with JAMStack patterns and headless CMS setups (Payload CMS).
• Design and maintain APIs, server components, caching layers, and backend logic.
• Manage deployments on DigitalOcean (Droplets, Managed DB, Spaces) and Cloudflare.
• Evaluate engineering tradeoffs and propose better solutions based on constraints.
• Help shape our coding challenges system (Boot.dev‑style interactive submissions).
• Participate in improving our AI learning assistant and automated code review flows.
• Contribute to infra decisions for both frontend and backend learning modules.
• Collaborate closely with curriculum, design, and product teams.
• Occasionally teach or record small technical explainers for students when needed.
• Help maintain code quality, reliability, and documentation.

You Should Have

• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, Next.js.
• Familiarity with REST or GraphQL, server‑side logic, caching, and auth.
• Experience with DigitalOcean or similar infra (droplets, devops basics).
• Experience with or willingness to learn Payload CMS, Supabase Auth, and edge/CDN deployments.
• Ability to research, reason, and weigh technical tradeoffs clearly.
• Strong communication skills. We value clarity and directness.
• An opinionated point of view on software quality, DX, and architecture.
• Curiosity about teaching, education, and how people learn to code.

Nice To Have

• Experience building interactive coding challenges (automated grading, sandboxes, etc.).
• Understanding of gamification systems, point systems, or simple reward engines.
• Experience with AI agents, LLM‑powered tools, or prompt engineering.
• Comfort working with product requirements that evolve quickly.
