Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Negeri Sembilan is seeking a skilled technician to perform preventive maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, relevant technical certification, and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in repairing forklifts or heavy machinery. Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols. This position requires comfort in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, electric pallet jacks, and reach trucks.
  • Certified Forklift Operator license is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Execute preventive maintenance for all forklifts and material handling equipment.
  • Perform routine tasks including oil changes and comprehensive inspections.
  • Respond immediately to emergency breakdowns on the production floor.

Job description

Execute a strict preventive maintenance schedule (PM) for all forklifts and material handling equipment.

Perform routine tasks including oil changes, filter replacements, greasing/lubrication, and comprehensive inspections of brakes, tires, masts, and forks.

Diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools, multimeters, schematics, and technical manuals.

Perform major and minor repairs on engines, transmissions, electric motors, control systems, and hydraulic cylinders.

Test equipment thoroughly post-repair to ensure peak performance and full compliance with safety standards before releasing.

Maintain detailed service logs, including job cards, daily time sheets, parts inventory usage, and asset maintenance history.

Respond immediately to emergency breakdowns on the production floor to minimize operational downtime.

Strictly comply with all safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and equipment operating standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma (SPM) required.

Certificate/Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or SKM (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia) in Heavy Machinery/Automotive.

Minimum [3-5] years of hands-on experience repairing forklifts (Toyota, Linde, Mitsubishi, etc.) or heavy machinery.

Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems (cylinders, hoses, pumps).

Familiarity with other MHE: Electric Pallet Jacks, Reach Trucks.

Certified Forklift Operator license is an added advantage (for testing purposes).

Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (warehouse heat/noise).
