Job summary

A food production company in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking a Food Product Developer to create and enhance food products. The role involves conducting product testing, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and collaborating with teams for production trials. Ideal candidates will have strong knowledge in food science and experience in problem-solving and documentation. This position is crucial for maintaining quality in new formulations while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve new food products, formulations and recipes.
  • Conduct product testing, sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies.
  • Ensure products meet food safety standards, Halal, Mesti, HACCP and regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with QA, production and packaging teams for trial runs and scale-up.
  • Prepare R&D reports, specifications, SOPs and documentation.
  • Evaluate raw materials, ingredients and suppliers for quality and cost efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and support continuous improvement projects.

Skills

Strong knowledge of food science, ingredients & processing
