As our business continues to expand, we are seeking a Full-Time Opto-Mechanical Engineer to support our product development, strengthen our customer support capabilities, and contribute to our global growth.
This is a remote-first role, offering excellent flexibility for self-motivated professionals who value work-life balance. While the position is primarily remote, candidates based in Johor Bahru, Malaysia are preferred to enable occasional in-person to Singapore office for the collaboration.
Conceptualize, design, and develop opto-mechanical systems and assemblies to meet system, cost, and schedule requirements.
Prepare and review fabrication, assembly, and layout drawings using CAD tools.
Lead the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of prototypes and pre-production systems.
Define and prepare technical specifications, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and good practices.
Manage project deliverables including schedules, budgets, and technical issues.
Collaborate closely with optics, electronics, laser, software, and production teams to achieve successful system integration.
Support sales and applications teams by providing technical input for customer proposals.
Continuously review and improve design guidelines, engineering workflows, and SOPs.
Other duties as required to support product and business objectives.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Optics, or a related field.
1 years of experience in mechanical or opto-mechanical design and development (automation or optical equipment preferred).
Strong foundation in high-precision, high-stability mechanical design (thermal and vibration considerations for optical systems).
Proficiency in 3D CAD tools, preferably SolidWorks.
Familiarity with optical alignment techniques and optical-mechanical interfaces.
Hands-on experience with optical assembly and integration is highly advantageous.
Strong communication skills; proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written) is preferred for cross-team and supplier communication.
Willingness to travel overseas for short assignments (e.g., customer discussions, installations, training).
Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and attention to detail in documentation.
Experience in laser systems or photonics products.
