Job summary

A leading fire protection services company in Gelang Patah, Malaysia, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to oversee the construction and maintenance of fire protection systems in data centers. The ideal candidate holds a diploma and has a First-Class Registered Fire Protection Engineer Certificate, along with experience in fire alarm panel systems. Responsibilities include conducting fire risk assessments, supervising the maintenance of fire protection equipment, and providing staff training. Job description
Responsibilities
  1. Be responsible for the construction, testing, and maintenance of data center fire protection equipment and systems, as well as the establishment of the operation system.
  2. Be responsible for fire risk identification, formulate fire risk handling plans for the data center, and oversee risk rectification and closure.
  3. Be responsible for alarm troubleshooting and rectification of fire protection equipment to ensure the accuracy of fire system alarms.
  4. Be responsible for organizing the repair, inspection, testing, and maintenance of data center fire protection equipment.
  5. Be responsible for fire protection competency training, fire drills, and skill assessments for on‑duty teams, central control operators, and engineering teams.
  6. Be responsible for the rectification of defects in commissioned fire protection systems and products.
  7. Be responsible for the guidance and review of plans for data center changes, renovations, and other projects, and be accountable for the technical rationality of the outcomes.
Requirements
  1. Full‑time diploma or above, hold a First‑Class Registered Fire Protection Engineer Certificate and a Middle or Higher Level Central Control Room Operator Certificate.
  2. 5 years or above work experience in fire alarm panel manufacturers or as a fire engineer, data center work experience is preferred.
  3. Proficient in the development and commissioning of fire protection control systems.
  4. Mastery of fire protection codes and standards with a relatively in‑depth understanding of electrical engineering.
  5. Energetic and passionate about work, strong sense of responsibility, innovative mindset, pragmatic and reliable, hardworking and resilient, with excellent hands‑on skills.
