A leading financial management firm in Johor, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced financial manager to lead financial accounting activities. The role involves establishing product costing systems, managing COGS reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. Ideal candidates will have 7–12 years in management accounting, strong knowledge of variance analysis, and familiarity with tax operations. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and relevant professional qualifications are preferred.
Lead and execute financial management accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely period-end close.
Establish and maintain a standard product costing system and inventory control framework.
Perform periodic scrap audits and monthly reviews of excess/obsolete inventory; provide root-cause analysis and recommendations.
Manage monthly COGS reconciliation and variance analysis (e.g., PPV, mix, usage, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption).
Oversee and prepare monthly financial and management reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, variance commentary).
Prepare semi-annual consolidation reports in accordance with group reporting timelines.
Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; implement monthly budgetary controls with variance tracking and corrective actions.
Manage treasury operations including cash flow planning, liquidity management, and funding arrangements; optimize working capital.
Oversight of the company’s yearly income tax submission, coordinating with external advisors and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Formulate, update, and enforce the company’s financial policies, SOPs, and internal controls to strengthen governance.
Review general ledger, trial balance, and other financial reports; ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely closing.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional qualification (e.g., CPA / CA / ACCA / CMA) preferred.
7–12 years of experience in cost accounting / management accounting, ideally in manufacturing or operations-centric environments.
Strong knowledge of COGS reconciliation, standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
Familiarity with tax regulations and treasury operations.
