Position Title
Finance Manager / Assistant Manager
Location
Samalaju, Sarawak (with overseas travel as required), or Based at Setia Alam Office with frequent travel to Samalaju.
Key Responsibilities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, working closely with project teams and onsite finance personnel.
- Monitor project-related financial transactions, including purchase orders, billings, progress claims, certifications, collections, and payment schedules to ensure healthy cash flow.
- Manage full sets of accounts including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and timely month-end closing.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, annual financial statements, and supporting schedules in accordance with MFRS and statutory requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Handle tax matters, including corporate tax, SST, tax computations, and submissions to LHDN, and liaise with tax consultants where required.
- Coordinate with the company secretary on statutory filings, annual returns, board resolutions, and regulatory submissions.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, bankers, and relevant authorities, and manage audit queries and financial reviews.
- Lead and support year-end closing and annual audit processes, ensuring timely completion and resolution of audit findings.
- Maintain proper financial documentation, records, and audit trails to support audits and management reporting.
- Support overseas projects and regional expansion initiatives, including financial reporting coordination and periodic overseas travel.
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CIMA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant working experience, preferably in EPCC, construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
- Strong knowledge of full set accounting, taxation, and statutory compliance.
- Experience dealing with auditors, tax agents, and company secretaries.
- Good analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
- Willingness to travel overseas when required.
- Mature, hands‑on, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced project environment.
