Job description

SIAONE INDUSTRIES SDN. BHD. seeks a Factory Technician/Assistant Engineer in Sungai Jawi, Penang, to provide electrical/electronic engineering expertise in a manufacturing setting. This full‑time role focuses on technical support for operating, maintaining, and commissioning production equipment to ensure normal, safe operation. Responsibilities include quality self‑checks and assisting with daily maintenance for smooth factory operations.

What you’ll be doing

• Troubleshoot, maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems and equipment in the factory.
• Perform regular inspections and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment and infrastructure.
• Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and support to production staff.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and procedures.
• Completing other tasks assigned by the supervisor.
• Receiving and accepting all daily materials, verifying quantity, specifications, and quality before warehousing.
• Managing product preparation, sorting, and ensuring orderly storage.
• Handling product packaging, timely and accurate dispatch (shipping), and smooth return processes for each batch.
• Assisting finance with inventory counts and reconciliation at month‑end to match stock and accounts.
• Maintaining factory cleanliness, organization, and compliance with 6S management principles (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety).

What we’re looking for

Relevant qualification in Certification or Diploma in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronic / Automation Engineering or a related technical discipline.

6+ years of experience in a similar factory technician or assistant engineer role. (We strongly welcome and encourage applications from recent graduates!)

• Required to understand basic principles / structure / circuit diagrams; handle common mechanical and electrical faults in equipment, safety operating procedures, and production safety knowledge.
• Basic knowledge of logistics and inventory management for efficient and accurate warehouse operations.
• Independent, initiative, teamwork spirit, learning ability, basic communication skills, and work discipline.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills with electrical and electronic systems.
• Working knowledge of industrial machinery, equipment and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals and specifications.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with production staff.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
• Ability in Mandarin or Chinese languages will be a priority for this role, as it requires collaboration with the team members from China.
• Must be able to work onsite with own transport.
