An educational institution in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of school buildings and infrastructure. Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of school buildings, classrooms, sports facilities, playgrounds, and other infrastructure.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and security systems.
Manage the upkeep of school grounds, ensuring cleanliness and proper landscaping.
Ensure the school complies with health, safety, fire, and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
Develop and implement emergency response procedures, including fire drills and evacuation plans.
Coordinate with local authorities and ensure compliance with building codes and legal requirements.
Manage contracts and relationships with external service providers, including cleaning, security, landscaping and maintenance contractors.
Monitor vendor performance and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising quality and safety.
Monitor utility expenses and recommend energy-efficient solutions.
Optimize the use of school facilities, including classrooms, offices, and common areas.
Support school events and activities by coordinating facility setup and logistics.
Plan renovations or expansions as needed, working closely with school leadership and architects.
Supervise and train facility maintenance staff, ensuring high performance and adherence to school policies.
Assign tasks, monitor work progress, and conduct performance evaluations.
Foster a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement within the facilities team.
Ensure all maintenance operations comply with statutory safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Oversee the renewal and timely submission of all required licences and certifications, including JKKP (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) licences, BOMB fire certificate, Local council building and signage licences, machinery permits, and other relevant regulatory approvals.
Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential risks and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
Coordinate with relevant authorities and departments to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health requirements.
Maintain accurate records and documentation of all safety-related certifications, permits, and inspection reports.
Provide guidance and training to maintenance staff to promote a strong safety culture within the department.
Implement sustainable practices to reduce energy consumption and waste.
Develop strategies for water conservation, recycling, and eco-friendly operations.
Ensure compliance with environmental policies and promote sustainability within the school community.
