The opportunity We are seeking an experienced Facilities Lead (Senior Facility Manager) to join our team at Macdonald & Company Limited' in Johor, Malaysia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art data centre facility, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

Manage and oversee all aspects of the data centre's facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems

Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to ensure the continuous operation and reliability of the data centre's critical infrastructure

Monitor and analyse facility performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions

Liaise with external service providers and vendors to coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades

Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards

Effectively manage a team of facilities technicians and engineers, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high levels of performance

Collaborate with the IT team to align facility management with the data centre's operational requirements

Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic facility management initiatives that support the company's growth and sustainability goals

What we're looking for

Minimum 4b years of experience in a similar Facilities Lead or Senior Facility Manager role, preferably within the data centre or mission-critical infrastructure industry

Extensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and their integration within a data centre environment

Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards

Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex facility-related issues

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders

Proven experience in leading and managing a team of facilities technicians and engineers, including performance management and development

Familiarity with data centre operations and IT infrastructure, with the ability to align facility management with the data centre's operational requirements

Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related field, is preferred
