Job summary

A leading facilities management company in Malaysia is seeking a qualified professional to oversee maintenance and compliance for their operations. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, have 3–5 years of relevant experience, and possess strong knowledge of building systems. This role involves leading a team of technicians and ensuring all operations meet local regulations while maintaining optimal performance. Candidates must have excellent communication and project management skills, along with the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the full spectrum of continuous compliances, utilities preventive maintenance and minimize facilities downtime.
  • To lead and supervise technician to achieve department and corporate objectives and goals.
  • To manage and maintain all the facilities installations to ensure smooth operation of utilities supplies.
  • To ensure plant building, facilities and pollution control equipment in good condition by carrying out predictive, preventive and breakdown maintenance with minimum cost and downtime.
  • Plan, monitor and implement self-regulation approach in pollution control equipment and schedule waste management.
  • Plan and implement cost saving projects for utilities such as electricity and water.
  • Plan, install and commission new equipment and machineries as and when required.
  • Carry out periodic survey of equipment and machineries with minimum interruption to production.
  • To ensure all facilities operation are continuous compliance with local authority, uniform building by laws, Environmental Quality Acts, DOSH requirements and corporate standards.
  • Ensure continuous improvement to meet and exceed department KPI.
  • To carry out job or task as and when assigned or required by superior and or management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or related field). Certified Chargeman preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building systems, or industrial plant operations.
  • Knowledge of building systems such as: HVAC, Electrical distribution, Compressed air systems, Chillers, boilers, water treatment, Fire protection and alarm systems.
  • Familiar with preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and engineering plans.
  • Understanding of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and building codes.
  • Good communication skills to coordinate across departments.
  • Project management and planning capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
