EXECUTIVE GOVERNANCE, INTEGRITY & GOVERNANCE UNIT (IGU) CHANCELLERY
KEY ROLES :
- Governance Framework Implementation
- Support the implementation and compliance of ISO 37001 ABMS and other relevant governance standards.
- Coordinate periodic reviews and updates of governance documents to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance.
- Policy & Procedure Review
- Review internal policies, guidelines, and workflows to ensure alignment with governance best practices.
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or potential non-compliance issues and recommend appropriate improvements.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and propose enhancements where required.
- Compliance Monitoring & Reporting
- Conduct routine governance checks, internal reviews, and compliance assessments across Units/Campuses.
- Track, monitor, and follow up on corrective actions and improvement plans.
- Prepare governance reports, dashboards, and periodic updates for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordination with Stakeholders
- Coordinate submissions, follow-ups, and responses for audits, assessments, and compliance-related reviews.
- Liaise with Internal Audit, HR, Finance, Procurement, Academic Units, and other departments on governance and compliance matters.
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Law, Business Administration, or any related field accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) or recognised by the Public Service Department.
- Experience in governance, risk management, compliance, audit, or integrity-related functions will be an added advantage.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Must have no disciplinary or criminal record.
- Possesses knowledge of risk management and internal controls, including the ability to identify control gaps and recommend improvements.
- Familiar with compliance requirements such as the MACC Act 2009, MS ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS), the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance (MCCG), and the Guideline on Adequate Procedures.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex issues, interpret data or documents, identify governance risks, and propose practical and sustainable solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey governance requirements clearly to both academic and non-academic staff.
- Exhibits high levels of personal integrity, confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Able to work effectively and collaboratively with other departments.
- Upholds impartiality, fairness and accountability, particularly when addressing governance gaps or irregularities.
- Proficient in digital tools such as SharePoint, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, Excel, and data tracking systems.
- Committed to promoting organisational values and fostering an ethical culture.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex matters, interpret data or documents, identify governance risks, and recommend practical, sustainable solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for articulating governance requirements to academic and non-academic stakeholders.
