A maritime management company in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a crewing specialist to ensure compliance with maritime regulations while managing crew scheduling and logistics. The role involves sourcing and evaluating crew competencies, arranging necessary training, and maintaining communication with seafarers. Candidates should possess at least 3 years of relevant experience and knowledge of MLC/STCW standards, along with excellent planning and negotiation skills. Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.
Ensuring company owned and managed vessels are operated in a safe, efficient and economical manner and in full compliance with Class and statutory regulations in particular regard to crew manning requirements.
To assist Crewing Manager on logistic, scheduling, availability and management of fleet crews, that are conducted in an effective manner
Sourcing, screening, interviewing, evaluating of crews' competencies which are in compliance with client’s requirement, MLC 2006 regulation.
Ability to attract, negotiate and retain crew within company’s market strategies and industry benchmark.
Arrange transportation, accommodation, work permit, medical checkup and compulsory training of crew on each vessel which fulfill the requirements of all maritime legislative bodies and contractual client requirements.
Monitor sign on / sign off, standby and track the working schedule of the crew members on assigned vessels. Compute crew timesheet for payroll processing.
Report to Crewing Manager and Operations Manager on crew performance appraisal and take necessary action in accordance to approved guidelines.
Ensure correct certificates and documents are in place, either internally or with recruitment agents, constant updating and readily for external audit.
Keep abreast of marine knowledge or crewing procedure system, application and develop best practices.
Maintain good relation and constant communication with all seafarers and attend to their grievances.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office, Planning, Negotiation, MLC/STCW knowledge, Interpersonal Skills.
Preferably Junior Executive specialized in Human Resources or equivalent.
