Job summary

A construction company in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Environmental Officer to ensure compliance with environmental legislation. The officer will monitor and audit environmental issues, conduct site inspections, and prepare detailed reports. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, with at least 1 year of relevant experience in the construction industry. Certification as a competent person by DOE and DOSH is preferred, along with computer skills. This role demands independence and the ability to handle pressure effectively.

Job description
  • To carry out monitoring and auditing on all environmental issues.
  • Ensure compliance to legal and other requirements, keeping up to date with changes in the environment legislation and other requirements.
  • Perform periodic sampling and testing environmental pollution control and preparation of the report.
  • To carry out environmental management requirement as per the Project Environmental Management Plan and as per contract.
  • To prepare and submit environmental reports as per contract to the client.
  • Perform daily environmental inspection at the site and submission of the monthly Environmental Monitoring Analysis Report (EMAR) to the Project Manager.
  • To record and document all environmental accidents.
  • Conduct environmental awareness training and developing schemes for recycling, pollution reduction and prevention.
  • Liaise with local authority / regulatory bodies (DOSH, DOE, Firefighter – Bomba, MOH, auditor, etc.) on matters pertaining to environment and safety.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree Environmental or equivalent Degree in related field.
  • Minimum 1 years of working experience in construction industry.
  • Competent person with CePSWaM or relevant certification certified by DOE and DOSH
  • Able to work independently, possess initiative and responsible.
  • Able to work under pressure with least supervision.
  • Computer literate and familiar with MS Office Application Software.
