Job summary

A leading environmental management company in Malaysia is seeking an individual for environmental compliance and monitoring roles. The successful candidate will act as a competent person for Air Pollution Control and Effluent Treatment Systems, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. Responsibilities also include maintaining performance data, attending audits, and coordinating with regulatory bodies. A Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science or related field, along with relevant experience, is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of working experience in the related field.
• Good knowledge in environmental law/regulation, permit and compliance procedure.
• Possesses competency in either CEPSO, CEPBFO or CEPIETSO.

Responsibilities

• Act as competent person for Air Pollution Control System (APCS) and Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS).
• Ensure factory complies with Clean Air Regulation 2014.
• Attend environmental audits and ensure compliance with local authority requirements.

Job description

a) Act as competent person for Air Pollution Control System (APCS) and Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS).

b) Ensure the efficiency of APCS and IETS by monitoring, maintaining and recording the system performance data into checklist.

c) Ensure Scrubber and Bag Filter plant operation within the standard defined and comply to CAR 2014.

e) Manage, record and update the implement task through eMAINS system.

f) Ensure the environmental monitoring report and documents are submitted to DOE quarterly (refer DOE requirement).

g) Arrange environmental monitoring with accredited laboratories for ambient air, boundary noise, stack monitoring and fuel burning equipment/APCS efficiency test.

h) Attend environmental audit and client environmental audit.

i) Attend visitation or enforcement conducted by DOE Officer.

j) Ensure compliance to regulation, order and other requirements related to environmental issue.

k) Assist management in renewal of caustic soda license (Permit NaOH).

l) Responsible in poison audit with Department of Pharmacy from KKM and liaise with them for any related issue.

m) Ensure all documents are kept properly in compliance with ISO 9001 & IS14001.

Key Responsibilities

• a) Competent person for Bag Filter (CEPBFO), Scrubber Operation (CEPSO) & IETS (CEPIETSO).
• b) Ensure emissions discharged from the chimney are not exceed DOE limits.
• c) Ensure factory comply to Clean Air Regulation 2014.
• d) Ensure caustic soda matter in factory comply to Poison Act 1952.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• a) Diploma or Degree in Environmental Science/ Environmental Engineering/ Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• b) Minimum 1 years of working experience in related field.
• c) Good knowledge in environmental law/regulation, permit and compliance procedure.
• d) Possesses competency either in CEPSO, CEPBFO or CEPIETSO.
