Role: Enterprise Sales Lead, SEA
Location: Kuala Lumpur (flexible / hybrid, regional travel may be required)
About EngageRocket
EngageRocket is a leading employee experience (EX) analytics-to-action platform, trusted by enterprises and governments across Asia to turn employee feedback into real business outcomes. We help HR and business leaders build highly engaged, high-performing organisations through continuous listening, advanced analytics, and action workflows.
We are now expanding our footprint across Southeast Asia (SEA) and hiring an on-the-ground commercial leader, starting with Malaysia as the launch market and progressively building across the region.
Role Overview
- Own a revenue quota and full sales funnel – from lead sourcing and prospecting, through qualification and solutioning, to negotiation and closing.
- Open and grow the Malaysia market first, while building a repeatable playbook for expansion across SEA.
- Close complex, enterprise-grade deals with CHROs, People & Culture leaders, and senior business stakeholders.
- Think enterprise hunter + country/region builder: you will source, qualify, sell, negotiate, and close – while shaping our SEA go-to-market strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Market entry & regional GTM leadership – Develop and execute a clear go-to-market plan for Malaysia, with a view to extend successful motions to the rest of SEA.
- Build and manage a target account list and territory plan for Malaysia and priority SEA markets, with clear segmentation (enterprise, upper mid-market, strategic accounts).
- Represent EngageRocket at key HR / EX / leadership events and communities in Malaysia and the wider SEA region to build brand presence and pipeline.
- Full-funnel new business acquisition
- Top-of-funnel / lead sourcing – Self-source opportunities through your HR network, outbound prospecting, events, referrals, and partnerships.
- Work with Marketing and regional teams to adapt campaigns for local relevance and follow up systematically on inbound leads.
- Mid-funnel / qualification & solutioning – Run structured discovery to understand the client’s EX, HR and business priorities.
- Qualify rigorously (budget, authority, need, timing, competition).
- Shape and deliver compelling demos, workshops and proposals that position EngageRocket as a strategic EX and people analytics partner.
- Bottom-of-funnel / negotiation & closing – Lead commercial structuring, negotiations, objection handling and executive sponsorship to close complex, multi-stakeholder deals.
- Navigate security reviews, legal, procurement and internal approvals typical of enterprise and public-sector environments.
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual revenue targets.
- Account development & regional expansion – Partner with Customer Success to ensure successful onboarding, renewals and upsell, and to capture proof points and case studies for regional use.
- Partnerships & ecosystem
- Leverage and grow an existing network within the HR community in Malaysia (and ideally broader SEA) – CHROs, HR Directors, HR consultants, and associations – to generate warm opportunities.
- Identify and develop ecosystem and channel partners (HR consultancies, system integrators) that can scale our reach across SEA.
- Internal collaboration & leadership
- Work closely with CS, Product and Marketing in Singapore to bring market and customer feedback into our roadmap and campaigns.
- Act as the “voice of prospect” internally, shaping pricing, localisation, packaging and commercial strategy.
- Put in place processes, playbooks and reporting for SEA, with a clear path to hiring local AEs/CSMs as the region scales.
- What Success Looks Like (First 6-12Months)
- A healthy, qualified pipeline 3–4x your annual quota across Malaysia.
- Multiple six-figure (USD) enterprise deals closed in Malaysia, with initial regional expansion opportunities identified.
- EngageRocket is recognised by a core group of influential HR leaders in Malaysia and SEA as a credible EX and people analytics partner.
- A repeatable, documented playbook for winning in Malaysia and SEA, supporting the case for additional regional hires.
- Ideal Profile
- 7–10+ years of B2B sales experience, with at least 5 years in enterprise / upper mid-market SaaS.
- Strong preference for experience in HR Tech / EX / HCM / Talent / People Analytics or adjacent solutions sold to HR.
- Proven track record of hitting and exceeding new-business revenue targets and closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals in Malaysia; regional SEA experience is a plus.
- Exposure as an early sales hire in a new market or region is highly valued.
- Existing, active network within the HR community in Malaysia (CHROs, HRDs, Heads of People) that you can tap on from day one.
- Familiarity with the SEA HR landscape – key conferences, associations, and buying behaviour across markets – is an advantage.
- Strong hunter DNA: comfortable building your own pipeline, doing structured outbound, and opening doors in greenfield accounts.
- Strategic, consultative seller: adept at diagnosing EX and people challenges, quantifying impact, and building robust business cases.
- Confident working with C-suite and senior stakeholders, facilitating workshops and executive conversations.
- Comfortable navigating RFPs, IT/security assessments, procurement and legal.
- Highly independent, hands‑on operator who can function as a one‑person “micro‑business” while thinking ahead about scaling the team and coverage model.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Bahasa Malaysia is a strong advantage. Additional SEA languages are a plus.
- What We Offer
- A founder‑like opportunity to build EngageRocket’s presence in Malaysia and SEA, with strong backing from an established regional team.
- Competitive base salary, uncapped variable compensation, and potential equity / long‑term incentives.
- Clear pathway to Country Manager and/or Regional Sales Leadership roles as the business scales.
- The chance to shape how leading organisations in SEA design the Workplace of the Future for their people.
