Job Description
  • Responsible for overall manufacturing process compliance from the safety, quality, cost and delivery aspect of direct labour, machine processes and of both direct and indirect material.
  • Responsible to meet the manufacturing line direct productivity (DP) as the key performance indicator (KPI).
  • Responsible to meet the manufacturing line internal defect cost (IDC), First Pass Yield (FPY) and line failure rates (FOR) as the key performance indicator (KPI).
  • To lead, plan (or improve the current) and buy off production line layout, workplace/workstation layout, material flow planning, space, direct labor headcount and shift requirements.
  • To perform big data analysis, review, improve process parameter and trouble shoot all OEE losses of the production lines, including debugging and providing disposition to all fall out rates from production processes or machine testing.
  • To lead & perform continuous improvement to the process planning and industrial engineering for existing running products (Line balancing, VT study, improvement & updating).
  • To review process control parameters, checklist and perform regular process and machine capability study (CpK, CmK, GR&R) on related processes in the series production.
  • To establish standardize work through time studies, MTM/UAS on process and implement Ergonomics at workstation after SOP.
  • To optimize line Balancing with the evaluated time studies.
  • To review, maintain and revise manufacturing engineering documents: Work Instruction, Visual aids, Line balancing, FMEA for product and process concern after SOP.
  • To lead, plan and introduce cost reduction activities through process, VT, and headcount improvement.
  • To coordinate, root cause and report out all second source, RPP, component qualification builds and 1st lot monitoring build (optical carrier new mold, lens new coating & etc).
  • To train and guide Trainers, Supervisors and Direct Operators on manufacturing processes.
  • To support Production in achieving the effectiveness/productivity, output, FOR and quality target.
  • To troubleshoot process and quality related problems in production.
  • To participate in all relevant audits, coordinate in providing and implementing corrective actions.
  • To participate actively in BPS activity (LLD, QVSM, VSM / VSD), identify and lead the A3 improvement projects.
  • Prepare ISIR Evaluation/QZ samples tools.
  • Participate and support in daily Point CIP.
  • Coordinate rework activity for related product quality.
  • To participate in all critical milestone process – involve B, C & D Sample Build of New Project.
  • To Lead or Participate in PSS/8D for related product quality.
  • Other tasks assigned by the superior as and when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead & apply problem-solving technique in solving Quality issues including risk assessment evaluation.
  • Knowledge in PFMEA & Control plan.
  • Knowledge in Analytical tools such DOE, SPC, MSA, APQP and PPAP, QFD, 8D, CpK, CmK or Cgk (added advantages).
  • Ability to manage personnel time to ensure the success of a project and completion of assignments.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, giving constructive feedback regularly & self-motivation.
