A leading medical device manufacturer in Penang is looking for a Production Engineer to oversee extrusion activities for capillaries used in in-house IVC products. Responsibilities include managing production, ensuring quality standards, and optimizing processes. Candidates should possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and at least three years of relevant experience. This role demands strong leadership and technical skills for process improvement. Responsible for managing all extrusion activities for PUR and FEP capillaries used in in‑house IVC products and bulk shipments to BBMUS and BBVS. Key duties include ensuring efficient production, maintaining quality standards, meeting schedules, minimizing waste and downtime, optimizing processes, addressing customer complaints, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring workplace safety.
Control production activities, material flow, and inventory to achieve cost and quality targets and production schedules of the assigned production line(s), and ensure compliance with standards.
Manage production and process functions to ensure quality products are built efficiently and delivered on time (as per the bowling chart).
Monitor operation costs and lead efforts to reduce wastage in production (as per the bowling chart).
Ensure a safe working environment and good 5S practice (zero incident/accident).
May be responsible for the management and supervision of production technicians and supervisors for senior positions.
