A multi-racial company in Malaysia is seeking a candidate for installation, testing, and maintenance of genset control panels. Responsibilities include electrical troubleshooting, routine inspections, and replacing faulty components. The ideal candidate should have a Certificate/Diploma in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, with 1-2 years of relevant experience. Must be willing to travel extensively within Malaysia and to countries across Asia (depending on projects).
Possess own transport.
Perform installation, wiring, testing, and maintenance of genset control panels, AMF/ ATS panels, and synchronization panels.
Carry out control and power wiring, cable termination, labeling, and panel dressing according to drawings and standards.
Assist in testing and commissioning activities including start/stop, alarms, shutdowns, breaker operations, synchronization, and load sharing.
Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical and control panel faults.
Support replacement of faulty electrical components such as relays, meters, controllers, power supplies, and sensors.
Ensure proper earthing, insulation, and safe operation of control panels.
Comply with electrical safety procedures, permit-to-work systems, and site HSE requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping and proper use of tools and test instruments.
Record work progress, test results, and report issues to supervisors or engineers.
Carry out other related duties as assigned.
Certificate/ Diploma/ Post Vocational Studies in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
At least 1-2 years' of design experience in either power generation controls or electrical switchgear or automation control.
Demonstrate above average electrical engineering skills, preferably within the power generation industry or closely related field. Generator control knowledge is a plus.
Competent in Microsoft Office Applications.
Knowledge in network communication and SCADA is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, plans, drawings, prints, or similar job write-up.
Willing to travel overseas as frequent global site visits as expected.
