Electrical Software Engineer (to be based in Shanghai)

The role starts with 1 year of training in our HQ at Klang, Malaysia; followed by a long-term placement at our sister branch in Shanghai, China.

Electrical Software Engineer designs controller system software for our customers. He/ she will be responsible for analysing system requirements, writing and installing custom programmable logic code, testing system efficiency, and providing operational support.

• Create and read/understand logic and flow diagrams.
• Identify and design a robust program fit for any mechanical or electrical purpose.
• Interact/collaborate with customers on design concepts.
• Determine machine automation test criteria before the final installation.
• Design PLC/GP programs for simulation, testing and start-up.
• Programming of automation and control systems that use PLCs.
• Monitoring of operational systems and troubleshooting problems.
• Conduct system commissioning with customers in meeting the system validation at project site.
• Preparing detailed project documentation and post-project reports.
• Testing automated systems for efficiency, safety, and reliability.
• Troubleshooting system errors.
• Providing clients with technical support.

Requirements

• Degree holder in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/ Mechatronic or related engineering fields.
• Excellent knowledge of machine mechanics and logical approach.
• At least 2-3 years’ experience as a PLC programmer.
• Good knowledge of manufacturing and mechanical processes.
• Detailed knowledge of PLC automation software and coding languages.
• Ability to travel and work with minimal supervision.
