Job summary

A safety management firm in Johor, Malaysia is looking for an experienced safety manager to lead hazard inspections and accident management processes. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Safety or Environmental Engineering along with at least 5 years of EHS management experience. Job description
  • Organize hazard identification and risk assessment, and assist in developing risk control measures.
  • Supervise the implementation of high-risk safety management measures within the organization.
  • Organize daily, seasonal, holiday, and special inspections at the division level.
  • Guide and supervise subsidiaries/business units in conducting hazard inspections and remediation, and ensure timely rectification of major hazards.
  • Improve accident investigation and handling procedures.
  • Coordinate the management of safety and environmental incidents across subsidiaries, and lead investigations and handling of major safety and environmental accidents.
  • Participate in EHS audits of key suppliers.
  • Streamline stakeholder management processes, participate in approvals for major project construction, key hazardous operations, and supervise safety-related work at construction sites.
  • Participate in and guide subsidiaries in the preparation and implementation of safety work instructions.
  • Perform other safety-related tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other related science and engineering disciplines
  • Familiar with occupational safety laws, regulations, and relevant standards.
  • Strong insight and execution ability, able to effectively conduct hazard inspections, supervise timely rectification, and reduce accident risks.
  • Proficient in accident investigation and analysis processes.
  • Familiar with stakeholder management, especially construction safety management and hazardous operations safety management.
  • Clear articulation, standard Mandarin; strong verbal expression and influence.
  • Skilled in drafting common official documents (notices, announcements, etc.) with concise and logical expression.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Minimum 5 years of EHS management experience; with at least 3 years in hazard inspection, accident management, or stakeholder management will be highly preferable.
