We are looking for an EHS Engineer in Malaysia.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist in identifying risks and enforce a proactive planning process on the safety program.
- Ensure and maintain safe working areas, including plant rooms, for employees.
- Comply with all Intel & JLL standard requirements, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and RBA Standard.
- Identify and evaluate risks, hazards, environmental aspects and impacts; develop controls and coordinate implementation through routine line walks and audits.
- Measure, evaluate, and analyse the effectiveness of safety control systems, policies, and procedures, and recommend changes to improve processes and reduce hazards and environmental pollution.
- Investigate, compile, analyse, and report safety performance, including industrial accidents, injuries, occupational diseases, and environmental incidents.
- Coordinate relevant activities as a management representative, such as daily toolbox/pre‑shift meetings and onsite management.
- Review, develop, and enforce safety‑related procedures in response to customer requirements, company policies, and applicable laws/regulations.
- Facilitate EHS induction and training on EHS and related topics for relevant suppliers/contractors.
- Arrange, facilitate, and track EHS training for JLL employees.
- Assist with occupational, safety, environmental, and health incident investigations.
- Track local EHS regulatory changes, assess applicability, and communicate implementation to all stakeholders.
- Implement corrective actions and suspend operations if required.
- Advise on workers’ compensation claims related to workplace exposures.
- Maintain current knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Environmental, Health and Safety/Engineering or related studies.
- 1 to 2 years of working experience in a related field.
- Familiarity with Malaysian guidelines and legislation (e.g., OSHA 2022, FMA, EQA).
- Competent Safety & Health Officer, registered with DOSH (compulsory).
Preferred Skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Presentation skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and coordination skills.
- Own transportation.
