About Tenby Tropicana Aman

Tenby Tropicana Aman opened in 2018. The school sits on a purpose-built campus in a suburban area of Tropicana Aman, just outside Kuala Lumpur. With over 500 students aged 3‑16 across primary and secondary, the vibrant school fosters a happy atmosphere and a strong sense of community.

The primary school follows the National Curriculum for England, incorporating the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). In secondary, the National Curriculum for England is delivered at Key Stage 3 leading up to IGCSE. We offer a wide range of IGCSE subjects and are an accredited centre for CAIE, Oxford AQA and Edexcel.

EAL Specialist Teacher – Key Responsibilities
  • Full responsibility for English Language teaching and assimilation into the mainstream curriculum for EAL students having little or no English language skills.
  • Equip EAL students with the necessary English vocabulary, oral and writing skills.
  • Work closely with parents, class and subject teachers to continuously support the English needs of EAL students.
  • Successfully write and implement EAL Teaching and Improvement/Development Plans.
  • Analyse assessment data to measure EAL students’ progress.
  • Deliver INSET/training to staff as part of the CPD programme.
  • Assist the School with developing greater ‘impact on learning’ practices.
  • Possess excellent knowledge and experience of assessment and tracking to inform student progress, including the use of standardised tests.
  • Contribute to the wider School Community.
Line Management

The EAL Specialist Teacher will report to the Head of Secondary.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or any other relevant field.
  • Experience in teaching English at KS3 and KS4, with a strong background in literature, language or related fields.
