Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Malaysia seeks a qualified candidate for generating mechanical and electrical drawings for equipment fabrication and assembly. Responsibilities include developing designs for mechanical components and assisting in tender preparation. The ideal candidate should possess a diploma in mechanical or computer-aided design, coupled with skills in drafting and CAD software, and good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Qualifications

Job description

Generating mechanical and electrical drawings for equipment fabrication and assembly work

Development of comprehensive designs for mechanical components, piping, and instrumentation & controls

Provision of detailed component descriptions, including detailed dimensions, materials and other necessary specifications

Review and analysis of specifications

Resolution of design issues

Assist in preparation of tender drawings

Assist in monitoring of day-to-day fabrication and assembly works

Keep the supervisor and Head of Department informed on the progress of the assigned task

Participating ad-hoc request

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a diploma in mechanical or computer-aided design and drafting courses

Required skill(s): drafting, computer aided design, Autocad, Pro-Engineer

Experience in Pro-Engineer will be an advantage

Familiar with 2D and 3D drawing software, such as Inventor, SolidWorks, and CATIA, for piping and equipment design will be an advantage

Able to communicate well with and project engineers

Able to work overtime to meet project deadlines

Able to work independently, patient, detailed oriented and organized

Analytical and capable of devising solutions to address design challenges

Good command of spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
