Job summary

A mechanical and electrical engineering company is looking for a drafting assistant to help create and revise 2D/3D technical drawings. The role involves using AutoCAD and requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and teamwork. Candidates should hold a Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering and have 1-2 years of relevant experience, although fresh graduates with strong AutoCAD skills are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of Revit is an advantage.

Job description

Assist in the creation and revision of 2D/3D technical drawings including M&E Shop drawing based on sketches, specifications, and instructions from senior team members.

Perform 2D/3D drafting using Autodesk software. Experience in Revit will be an added advantage.

Assist prepare various types of drawings, including layouts, sections, and detail drawings.

Align and collaborate with internal project team for project strategy. Work closely with project managers, designers and engineers to facilitate project success.

Assist in compiling tender documentation by providing accurate drawings and technical details as needed

Support the revision process for drawings, ensuring updates are accurately captured and documented.

Assist in maintaining organized drawing files and project documentation.

Communicate effectively with senior drafters and engineers regarding drawing requirements and design changes.

Ensure personal drafting work conforms to company standards and guidelines under supervision.

Participate in learning opportunities related to new design tools, systems or products.

Requirements

Excellent command of Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel.

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.

Fluency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia

1-2 years experience in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field.

Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit is an advantage).

Strong attention to detail and understanding of engineering drawings.

Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
